Lupine Bicycle Tour 2008

THE 2008 WILD LUPINE BICYCLE TOUR will begin at the
LOCATION OF STARTING POINT:
From SOUTH: Head North on I-75 to I-475 north, exit onto SR 2 (
From NORTH: Take 1-475/US 23 south to SR 2 (
ROUTE – The route
takes a scenic tour of rural NW Ohio and enters Oak Openings Preserve Metro
Park and onto the bike path to Lou Campbell Prairie for a view of Wild Lupine
blooming in a restored prairie. Then the tour heads for Kitty Todd
Preserve for refreshments and a walk through prime Oak Openings habitat.
From the Kitty Todd Preserve, the tour returns to Crissey
Elementary. Total distance is approximately 20 miles.
MAPS will be provided
and the route not in the Metroparks will be marked
with pavement arrows.
CHILDREN are
encouraged to participate to the extent of their abilities. All riders
under the age of 18 must have a release form signed by a parent or
guardian. Those under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible
adult. This will be an “on road” ride.
HELMETS – To
participate in this event, you must wear a helmet. Helmets must be worn
at the time of Registration and Check-in and on the route.
REGISTRATION – The
first 25 who pre-register will receive a limited edition print of a meadow
abloom with lupines which is suitable for framing. There will be
a $3 fee for this ride; make checks payable to HI-TA.
